HyNet Council Briefing

A briefing of the HyNet Project was given to the Council and members of the public who attended the Council meeting held on Monday, 4 September 2023. Cerys Percival, Community & Communication Coordinator from Eni UK Ltd, undertook to take away questions raised by Members and the public and an email detailing his answers is copied below. You can access a copy of the presentation given here and a copy of the route map here.

Dear Shirley

Just a note to thank you and the Council Members for hosting us at your Parish Council meeting on Monday.  We hope everyone found it a useful briefing.

As promised, I’m following up on the action points I took away and can provide the following responses to the points raised to date:

  • Safety impacts – please see link to the relevant documentation referenced from our DCO application (Major Accidents and Disasters chapter): Environmental Statement (Volume II) (planninginspectorate.gov.uk)
  • Government Funding of the project – please see link to the relevant documentation referenced from our DCO application (Funding Statement): Funding Statement (planninginspectorate.gov.uk)
  • Link for further Q&As – please see attached a copy of the presentation shared at the meeting.  You will see a list of ways in which people can get in touch is included on the last page.  You also have my contact details below.

I also attach a copy of the route map we shared on the evening, and a link here to the route overview, but if you would like further printed copies of these please let me know and I will arrange for them to be dropped off.  Additionally, Lynda from the Tea Room also asked for some printed materials to be left with her for community use, so there will be a couple of copies available there shortly too.

The full DCO application and all supporting documents can be found here but, as Dave mentioned on the evening, it’s not the most user-friendly platform so if there’s something specific you’re interested in finding please let us know and we can help signpost you to the correct location rather than you sifting through the many documents now uploaded!

I think that was all I noted on the night but please don’t hesitate to get in touch if there’s anything I’ve missed or if any further information is required.

Kind regards
