In Summer 2002 the Parish Council
purchased 5.2 acres of land on Fiddlers Lane next to the existing Playing
Field. The idea behind the purchase is to combine the two fields into one
and provide grounds and facilities for football, cricket and a number of other
smaller schemes e.g. BMX track, for the use of the local people of Saughall and
Shotwick Park. This new area of land is to be known as the Golden Jubilee
Park in celebration of Queen Elizabeth II 50th year on the throne.
This page has been set up to give details of the progress of the
construction of the Golden Jubilee Park with photographs.
